Day with a Difference – 27-Nov-12

Quote of the day
You will never do anything in this world without courage. It is the greatest quality of the mind next to honor. -Aristotle

Thought of the day – Nelson Mandela
Nelson Mandela’s life may be one where stories of faith and courage become the staple of every topic concerning the plight of equality for all mankind. As Nelson Mandela sat in a four cornered room, his dreams for a better and equal Africa remained the life-blood of his survival throughout his twenty three year imprisonment. There is so much that can be written about the life and times of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, it would probably encompass a lifetime to cover what he has contributed to so many of his African people. Freedom comes with a dear price, and for so many people of South Africa that have endured the pains of oppression and ridicule, Nelson Mandela has remained that one vision of shining light that uplifted a nation from the strong hold of subjugation. "After climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb." Nelson Mandela always provided positive insight when situations seemed bleak and out of reach. "For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others." "I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear." And what is fear, but to dabble in the recess of your soul when hope seems but a dream. "If there are dreams about a beautiful South Africa, there are also roads that lead to their goal. Two of these roads could be named Goodness and Forgiveness." In this lifetime there have been few men that have moved people to work for a cause such as what Nelson Mandela has believed to be for the benefit of all people. "If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language that goes to his heart." How can people from different backgrounds and faith come together as one? "If you want to make peace with your enemy, you have to work with your enemy. Then he becomes your partner." In times of danger and distress, Nelson Mandela paints the perfect portrayal to peace and prosperity as mentioned in these next few quotations. "It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership." There can be no stronger kinship than love, this invisible force bonds mankind fellowship to all belongings of worth. "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." All of Nelson Mandela quotations bear a universal truth; his story has been one of struggle and humility – walking in the face of many surmountable challenges. Nelson Mandela’s faith is a testament of unyielding courage abiding by God’s holy resolve.
